Art that makes a statement can awaken our consciousness from the deep slumber of ignorance. This thought provoking black and white photograph of aged oak trees ahead in the distance juxtaposed with the view to the rear of a church and graveyard is a unique representation of the dynamic between positive and negative, yin and yang, life and death, hope and despair. Ultimately, it represents the significance of where choice can take us. Whether viewed from a religious, spiritual, psychological, physical, or philosophical perspective, the message is the same: look at where you want to be. We can’t control everything that happens to us, but we can choose how we react. It’s the perfect gift for a stoic.
